Battery Thermal Runaway

In thermal runaway, a battery generates more heat inside than it can dissipate. This heat then triggers a chemical reaction inside the battery, which produces even more heat, which produces further chemical reactions. The result can be a fire that is too hot to extinguish. Various technologies are being developed to mitigate such runaway reactions.
