Wind power is the use of air flow through wind turbines to mechanically power generators for electricity. Wind power, as an alternative to fossil fuels, is plentiful, renewable, widely distributed, clean, produces no greenhouse gas emissions during operation, and uses little land. The effects on the environment are generally less problematic than those of other power sources.
Some of the emerging trends in wind power include the development of floating offshore wind farms, the use of larger and more efficient turbines, and the use of data analytics to optimize wind farm performance.
